Sebringville punched its ticket to the 2026 International Softball Congress championships after winning the recent Ontario Challenge Cup!
Sebringville capped its six-game win streak with a 9-5 extra-inning victory over previously unbeaten Waterdown in the championship. Clinging to a 5–4 lead in the top of the ninth, Bender sparked the rally with an infield single. Sager followed with an RBI single to extend the lead before Sebastian launched a three-run home run to break it open.
Sebastian, who pitched all nine innings and struck out 15, earned his seventh win of the weekend. The national team hurler was named both the tournament’s Top Pitcher and Most Valuable Player. “We’ve got a good thing going right now with a veteran core and a young core coming up,” Pfeifer said. “We have a great, committed group of guys. There’s not one time this year we struggled to make nine (players). Everybody knows their roles and is good with doing what’s asked of them. We’re a tight group of guys.”
